My name is Abbee Jefferies. My primary email address is abbeejefferies@hotmail.com I have grown up and lived in Amarillo, TX all my life. My content area is Biology. I am planning on teaching 8th through 12th grade. I am currently a site coordinator for the Canyon After School Program at Hillside Elementary. I love working with students and helping them learn. It’s not only a “feel good” moment for me, as a teacher, when a student understands something, but you can tell the student feels good about themselves and has received more confidence in themselves.

Educational Philosophy

Educational Philosophy-
I want to teach because I like to watch the “light” that goes to children when they understand a tough concept and watching them gain confidence when they make an A on a test or project.   I want all students to realize their gifts and talents that God has gave them even if it’s not in academics.   I believe it’s important for students to realize their purpose in life and it seems like high school is where students start figuring out who they are, what they enjoy doing most and what they want to do with their life.  This is when they gain confidence within and become independent and start preparing for the real world. I want to be the teacher that helps prepare them for the real world and help them be successful in whatever career they choose.
